Description
As a boy, Tore Svensson spent many hours by the small lake Lomtjärn, near his childhood home in Sweden. In later life, seeking out this little lake on a map, he was struck by its shape and its evocative recollections. 69 Lakes is a record of Lomtjärn and other lakes with personal meaning for Svensson, translating his watery memories into a series of 69 brooches whose etched surfaces are reminiscent of the scratched tracks of his ice skates on the frozen lake in winter.
