The colours, primal in their origin, stone dust painted on slices of coal, the materials millions of years in the making, turning up in the Netherlands 100 years too late to join an art movement but claiming it as an inheritance despite being made 18,000 kms away.

If those pieces have a narrative then I think it goes something like that, something about time and distance……”
