Vera Siemund has long made architecture, historical ornament and classical references, with their powers of association, the focus of her work. Her hand-pierced, enamelled jewellery contemporises classical forms and reminds us of the elegance of things past. She appreciates the richness in the details of Gothic buildings, old jewellery, the work of Dürer, textiles and transforms them into eloquent, elegant and magnificently crafted contemporary jewellery.
