Beschrijving
The particular beauty of German jeweller Antje Bräuer’s work lies in its elemental strength. Bold, honest and filled with creative energy, her jewellery seems almost to grow from the wood, metal and porcelain that are her materials. With an instinctive approach, her work is not didactic, never ‘finished’, leaving space for the wearer or viewer’s interpretations and memories to add depth and colour over the passage of time. In 2013, Antje was awarded the Marzee Prize and this book, published in honour of the prize, traces her career from her early days at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle under Dorothea Prühl until 2018.
With an introduction by Marie-José van den Hout, founder and director of Galerie Marzee and essays from Wouter Weijers and Renate Luckner-Bien.
