Mirei Takeuchi
Mirei Takeuchi’s jewellery evokes the delicacy of the dragonfly wings and fragile forms so often seen in her work. Her pieces dwell on the transient beauty around us, paradoxically rendered in laser-cut iron, noted more for its strength than its ephemerality.
Mirei was born in Porz-Wahn in Germany in 1969. She studied design at Kyoritsu Women’s University in Tokyo and worked as an interior designer before returning to Germany to study jewellery at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich. Her work can be found in collections such as the Marzee Collection, Die Neue Sammlung in Munich and the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
