Katie Collins
Intrigued by the forms, mechanisms and movement in tools and machinery, Katie Collins creates tactile, articulated jewellery that opens, unfurls and reveals itself in a mechanical dance of discovery. Her work must be unpacked and explored before it can be worn and it is this transformation from object to jewellery, as well as the moments in between, that captivates her.
Australian jeweller Katie Collins graduated from RMIT University in Melbourne in 2014. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Australia, Europe and the US and is held in the collections at the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, the W.E. McMillan Collection at RMIT University and the Dallas Museum of Art in the US.
